NP205 Rebuild

Hey guys! First time poster and owner of a new old 73 k20 suburban. I have read many post and threads about what goes into rebuilding the NP205. Right now everything is fine, except that ATF is flying out of the breather hose on my transfer case. I'm looking for a good complete rebuild kit, and a list of special tools I might need. When looking online at the kits, they are asking for spline sizes, which I don't know which ones mine has. It's a 73 k20, with original 350 engine and th350 trans, matted to the NP205. Everything is completely stock. Thanks!

Re: NP205 Rebuild

I think a 73 would spec gear oil rather than ATF. TH350 suggests a 27 spline input to the TC, but don't trust me. Go to advance adaptors web site and check their docs, or use google.
The 205 is dead simple so you just need the usual tools found in a well stocked toolbox. Maybe a small ~1/8" drift to push the pins out of the shift shafts.

Re: NP205 Rebuild

Welcome to 67-72! I would've guessed gear oil in the 205 too since it's an all-gear xfer case but got this on a search: LINK. Apparently it'll use either.
