I was thinking about building a tubular frame for my truck and was wondering if anyone could give me any advise on some plans or anything that would help. Thanks DeWayne

Well,
there are a lot of considerations when building a new chassis for your vehicle. There are numerous books available on chassis building, including race-style chassis, space-saver designs, tubular, clipped and others. You need to write down everything you want from the new chassis. You ABSOLUTELY need to take exact measurements of every aspect of the original chassis, so that these can be transferred to the new chassis. When you have all the original specs, then you can modify them to suit your needs, whether this includes body droppin, shortening, lowering, or whatever. For example, will you still use the front and rear bumpers, if not, you can build the frame without provisions for them. There are several comanies that make frames also, including Jim Meyer, Fat Man Fab, Art Morrison, Chris Alston and others. There are also clips for the front and rear available such as the aforementioned and also Competition Engineering, Jegs, and others. Frame building is no easy task, but it can be done well with lots of planning and time. Don't cut ANY corners. Hope this info helps. Good luck!!!
