Lift and Tires
Can anyone tell me how much lift and what size tires this truck has?
I've got big news. My life long goal of turning my dad's old 68 c20 into a 4x4 is going to happen. I bought a rough 72 k20 for parts and plan on swapping everything over to the 4wd frame. I couldn't be more pumped. Id like my truck to sit just like this one. I think its about a 6 inch lift and 35s but I could be wrong. |

Re: Lift and Tires
I'd guess 4" lift and 32"-33" tires. Beautiful truck, btw. Good luck with your conversion! Will you have a build thread?

Re: Lift and Tires
Definitely 4 inches of lift. Could those be 17" wheels? If so maybe a 285/75r17. 34" tires. They could be 16s or 16.5s but the rubber looks more narrow than 12.5".
I love it!

Re: Lift and Tires
I remember your pictures and plan from back then. Congratulations! I think it's 4" with 255/85r16s. here is my truck with that combo, except the rear is a bit less

Re: Lift and Tires
This is my new parts rig. 350/350/np205, d44/eaton, ps, pb, ac. I'm sure I over paid, but it should make the conversion way easier.

So I'm going to go with a rough country 4" lift and super swamper q78-16s. If anyone has any pictures of that combo on a 67-72 please share. I ordered the lift yesterday, but not the tires.

Re: Lift and Tires
those could be 285/75s... maybe a little wider than 255/85s? What do you all think. Heights are very close on those. If those are 7" wheels I's sat 255/85 and if they are 6" I'd say 285/75s by the sidewalls. Mine are 7". I'm leaning more towards GM wheels with 285s now. If it's that hard to tell, either would get you there. 255s goes more toward tall skinny and 285s more beef. Both about the same from the side and fill the wells pretty much the same. What;s the difference in height, like 1/2"?
Here is one that shows width better:
