I think they are all different. I bought me a cheap laser thermometer and none of my trucks were exactly the same.

These guages were never ment to measure temperatures with any accuracy. They are only a reference to show the driver that things are normal or going bad. They are resistance based so any change in voltage or conductivity in the circuit shows up on the gauge. They were designed first and formost to make GM money. Otherwise they would have been mechanical guages.
