Re: what muffler brand took over flowmaster's patent?

I had someone at a car show tell me the same thing but do not know who are selling the Flowmaster copys. I was told that the paten ran out and anyone can make that same design. Flowmasters still makes them but other companys can now make the same design and they are cheaper in price and made the same as the Flowmaster muffers but are not selling at the inflated price. Just do not know who is selling them besides Flomaster. Never heard of Imco.

Re: what muffler brand took over flowmaster's patent?

I found IMCO on ebay, but I want three chambers if I'm going with that style muffler, not the two chambers. I guess I'll have to wait for that patent to run out too or just buy the real thing. I would guess this will force Flowmaster to lower their prices...

Re: what muffler brand took over flowmaster's patent?

i had asked several sellers on EBAY about their KO flowmaster original 40s, apparently they are the exact same muffler, made by flowmaster, same manufacturing line, just no brand name embeded.this is how they are competing with the other junk china made ones, hes sold over 100 and he guarantees the sound is just like flowmaster, every application is different obviously though
