Bed hardware questions

I'm replacing my bed wood in my 65 short bed fleetside and had trouble with the bolts holding the wheel well cover down, and had to cut a few. Anyone got a part number for these, or know where I can buy em?

Also, anyone have feedback on the LMC Truck steel bed strips and hardware? I plan to paint em black so I was thinking stainless steel isn't worth the extra spend but looking for opinions.

An order of steel strips and a bolt kit on LMC Truck comes to ~$118 after shipping, compared to ~$190 from Mar-K, so that probably ain't happening.

Re: Bed hardware questions

Well I understand what your saying. You get what you pay for imo, LMC has mostly Chinese stuff and their customer service for me has been less than "ok".

I wish you luck in your build!

Re: Bed hardware questions

Does anyone know whether the bed strip bolt kits include the bolts that go around the edge of the bed, including over the wheel covers? Or do I have to get a separate bolt kit for that? Thanks

Re: Bed hardware questions

They all come in a kit except the bed mounting bolts.

Looks like you're right from the pictures I can find. However, I also see that the strips from both Mar-K and LMC Truck come with square punched holes and square neck carriage bolts, instead of round holes and a ribbed neck carriage bolt like my truck currently has. I wonder the reason why. Probably just cheaper.

I am debating whether I should re-use my original bed strips or spring for new ones. This isn't gonna be a show truck and I kinda want to keep the original parts where possible.

Re: Bed hardware questions

Those bolts are just regular 3/8 carriage bolts that you can get at Home Depot or Lowes.

Re: Bed hardware questions

As long as your ok with them, I would use them.
The bolts are 3/8 and 5/16 I believe. Both 1.25 long I think.
