72 Headlight switch

Anyone else had any trouble with the current aftermarket headlight switches -- specifically the headlight knob shaft will not release once it's inserted. I know how to use the release button on the underside. Have gone through two switches and both of them will not release the shaft once it has been inserted. Would like to find an NOS part if anyone has a bead on one.

Try tilting the switch knob down are up when pulling it out. I had the last one I installed lock in place also. After several attempts I pushed down on it while pulling it out and it popped out. It works everytime now for me.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: 72 Headlight switch

I've had this problem with my aftermarket switch, usually solved by jiggling the knob around while pressing the button and pulling out at the same time. It's annoying, but I don't have to pull the knob out that often so I don't think about it too much.
