After market power steering pump brackets

I've got 2 pumps & 2 sets of brackets but neither will fit. Has anyone got any dimensions from any aftermarket type brackets so I can make some? Thanks

Re: After market power steering pump brackets

I used one of these real simple to make if you have a measuring tape and some 1/4 inch steel.

Can't remember what engine you have and you didn't post that in your question. Now, what engine are you trying to put the pump on? Maybe we can get you a simple answer.

Re: After market power steering pump brackets

Unfortunately, I had the same problem of finding the correct bracket for my new power steering pump installation.

I bought a bracket from Speedway Motors that did not fit correctly. When I informed Speedway by phone & emails (with attached pictures) of the problem, they just said to return, it rather than understanding or caring of what the design problem really was.

Fortunately, a good friend highly recommended contacting Allan Gove Components. They specialize in the design & fabrication of P.S. brackets & more. My 55.2 truck has a Chevy Big Block with a short water pump. They have bracket configuration for any engine setup you may have.
Check out their website it is very informative & their bracket fit my application as advertised. Good product!

Small Block Chevy with a long pump, no problem.
Here you go, with available designs from Alan Grove.

Re: After market power steering pump brackets

i just made it and don't have any measurements
i made this out of 10 ga steel and some 3/8'' tube
all the tools i used was a grinder with a cutoff wheel and a drill
i did tack it together to make it easier to install, but that is optional
easy peasy

Re: After market power steering pump brackets

Thanks Ogre, l made a start on it today. Cut out a steel plate, drilled 2 holes 45mm apart & a 3rd hole. Drilled through to make a matching one.

Looks easy enough to make BUT one problem I see there is No adjustments for belt tension?

Re: After market power steering pump brackets

typically the ps pump and the alternator/generator are on the same side
this pic shows the alternator belt in line with the ps pump

Re: After market power steering pump brackets

I had some trouble when I swapped the Cad 500 into my 71 GMC with pumps bolting up and it may be that you have a pump designed for an engine besides a small block Chevy or even a big block.

I think I ended up using the pump that came with the engine and got a different hose that would work but exactly what I did slips the mind right now.

Still if you have not got it fixed photos of what you have are the best thing to have someone figure out what is going on.

Re: After market power steering pump brackets

I have a BB SWP C30 with bracket and frame clearance problems. These were custom made at a local shop, modelled after Black Mountain Precision's billet bracket kit.
