headers,help

hi folks so I m almost done installing my set of headers on my 65,i need to get my truck to the muffler shop to complete the rest of the pipe system,my ?? is will the truck be drivable with just the headers on,or will I have to tow besides it sounding like a locomotive coming at you will I damage anything in my engine? thx your help or suggestions are appreciated

If you're not driving too terribly far it will be fine. It also depends on how picky the local Police are about noise. You could always install some temporary mufflers.

ive driven my 64 c10 with vortec 350 around the block on open long tube headers. gets a lot of looks. I didnt get pulled over but easily could have been if a cop was around. Try to keep the rpms downs as much as you can

Your good. I've driven vehicles to the muffler shop with just manifolds in So Cal, no issues.

I drove my '57 Chevy to high school for two years with open fenderwell headers with no problems. That is, no MECHANICAL problems!

I drove mine with mid length headers to the muffler shop but it was only a few blocks. As long as you don't need to step on it and can use light throttle you should be fine. As mentioned by others it all depends on your area and how likely you are to encounter a cop who won't let your loud pipes slide.
