Re: Coming to a TV near you! "*****in Rides"

I've noticed a blazer in the background on quite a few episodes. I was really hoping that we would get to see the build someday.

I actually quite like this show. Although all the builds aren't to my taste. They do amazing quality work and there's very little manufactured drama. They even did an episode where they pointed out all of the "just for TV" stuff.

The future liner they restored was friggen amazing. Out of all the car shows on tv they are the easiest for me to watch for sure.

Re: Coming to a TV near you! "*****in Rides"

For all those who say it's crazy to spend *****$ on one of these trucks you should probably not follow along.
His interior guy charged 60K to do the interior on a pickup that won truck of the year at Goodguys last year. I can't even imagine what an interior alone would cost on a full size blazer. Let alone what the entire build will run.
I would guestimate at about 250K.

Velocity. It's discoverys channel devoted just to automotive, marine and motor cycles. It's Channel 280-something on directv if that helps. John- my wife is F.B.I, she's 4/4 Navajo.

Re: Coming to a TV near you! "*****in Rides"

Thanks for the info 57taskforce. i don't have sat. or cable where I live, It's available but i live in a deep holler surrounded by tall trees so sat signal is virtually impossible. I do however have good internet so I will search it up and take a look see at it.
What branch of Navajo is she? they are good, proud people, and your a lucky man. About 8 years ago I was on the Navajo res in NE Arizona in a town called Cameron. It's a beautiful place out there and a wonderful people. I'm 50/50, my father was/is F.B.I. Cherokee from the eastern band in the Appalachian mountain region of North Carolina. My mother is half blood also. I spent allot time on the Rez. growing up and am in process of moving there myself in the next couple of years. I traveled with a native group building schools on reservations across the country for almost 2 years back in "01/02". I got to see allot of different places and Rez.'s during that trip. I was in my 20's then and wanted to see the country, and doing good things along the way. Anyway, sorry for hi-jacking this thread, and thanks for the info on the show, and your 72 K20 Cheyenne is sweet too.

Re: Coming to a TV near you! "*****in Rides"

I saw the Maliboost in person at Goodguys last year, it was a work of art. I too, don't always like the over the top builds but these guys are the exception.

Thanks for the heads up!

It is a complete set of 71/72 Blazer Seats. Front and Back seats with all of the brackets. When I talked to Steve Anderson (the production manager) he said if I send them a hat that he would ware it sometime during the show. I don't know what good it will do me.... I have never seen him on the show. He was the one who started purchasing from us. (Seems his contacts are not as good as mine ) However while in negotiations on the price Kevin Shiele took over. (Kevdog shop Forman) Both great guys to talk to although Kevin didn't say he would ware my hat, I will send him, Steve, and Dave one anyway... They can add them to their collections if they have them... It's been a great experience to work with them and when I told them I was a huge fan of their show they both thanked me and truly sincere when they did. WES

Re: Coming to a TV near you! "*****in Rides"

They were very gracious with their time when people wanted autographs at Goodguys. So many of these shows have blow-hards like Richard Rawlings(who may be a good person, I have no clue) but these guys just seem like down to earth people and Dave never comes in and acts like an ass to his employees.(at least on camera)

I hope your hat makes a cameo appearance.

I don't get the Velocity channel (I don't understand why-my kid gets it and he has the very same directv package as me) At any rate, I kinda forgot about these guys. I'm in the neighborhood of their shop often. Maybe I'll stop and peek through a window some day.

I just watched for the second or third time the "Copper Caddy" build. I noticed a 67-72 Suburban in the back ground... Maybe we will get to see it too. WES
