Recommendation on Truck cover
Now that I got the truck painted ,I am thinking about getting a truck cover for it ,
Would like to get opinions of people who have them . Are they worth it or more of a pain.? We are close to the ocean so we get a lot of morning due and marine layer (fog) Mist.

I thought you mentioned that you were going to go with a Gaylord lid. I think those are nice if installed correctly. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I thought the same thing Wes did. Good thing I read the replys first!
I haven't any experience with man-made covers but I don't recommend the natural ones. See pic. If it were me, I'd eliminate all the cheap ones if you really want to protect your investment.

Bill,
I bought a cheap cover from Pep Boys for $60 that lasted a little over 2 years. They dry rot due to UV rays. For a nice paint job like you have, spend the money and get the best you can afford. If you have the room you may want to buy a freestanding car canopy or build a car port. I'm lucky I don't have to worry about that anymore. There are some portable types on ebay!

I have a nice high quality one made by Wolf. It has that special fabric that lets it breatg, One warning though, if there is ever ice stuck to it, no matter how much you want to take it off just leave it there.
I have had the cover on my truck almost 24/7 for the past 3 years and it is holding up very well. Last edited by Gee_Emm; 03-23-2004 at 02:52 PM. |

Look at Classic Industries they have some nice evolution covers especially for our trucks, not cheap, but I think the right fabrics.
