Heater core help

Does anyone know where I can purchase a heater core for my PG/250 1966 1/2 ton, with economy heater. I have mine old one out and don't want to go through the hassle of ordering a half a dozen cores to finally get the right size and fit for my truck. a Just thought one of you have done this before and I might benefit from your experience. Thanks for any advice, starting to get cold!!

Re: Heater core help

This should help read below.
The heater core in this listing fits the deluxe heater core. I just went to Oriely's and bought a heater core and it was to short. I went back with the Murray number listed below and they pulled it up. I will be in Tuesday. Sounds like Oriely's gave me the standard core the first time

None of the aftermarket heater cores (Thrift-Air or Deluxe) have inlet/outlet tubes in the right shape. You have to hack the heater box around the tubes to get them in and then the support bracket does not fit either. Without the bracket, all the stress of the heater hoses hanging will be taken by the solder joint of the tube into the core.

These replacements will get you heat but there will be premature leaks at those joints. Typical of aftermarket parts- generally work but not OEM quality.

Re: Heater core help

Was that for the recirculating heater or the deluxe heater?

Re: Heater core help

The deluxe heater core I bought last year is a brass/copper heater core.

Re: Heater core help

I ordered it from one of my better local auto parts suppliers. The brand and part number is in this thread.

Re: Heater core help

The '60-'63 deluxe heater core is completely different than a deluxe heater core for a '64-'66.

If the first one you ordered was too short, it was likely for the economy heater. Those heater cores are shorter than the cores for the deluxe heaters.
