New seat for my 57!
I finally finished my interior with a new seat. It was custom made using the original seat frame with the back cut down 2in. A 60 Impala rear seat speaker grill was installed using the materials/pattern from the 63 Impala.
More pic's in my build thread.

Re: New seat for my 57!
Wow that's a work of art! Why the 2" cut? Just to make it flush with the rear window? Is there backing on the bottom and rear?

Re: New seat for my 57!
That is beautiful, and the two inch cut makes it a perfect fit to the back window.

Re: New seat for my 57!
That looks gorgeous !
What a great job ! I love the idea . Now I want to do something like it . The only problem is finding the speaker grill. How long and far did you have to search to find the grill ?

Re: New seat for my 57!
Huh?! Glendale, CA is down the street from me. Does he have a shop and if so, how about some contact info either poste here or by PM. You must REALLY like his work to ship a bench all the way from where you are to here and back.

Re: New seat for my 57!
Very Cool!!
Impala dashes and steering wheels have been used in hotrods, customs and pickups for ever and just add a level of cool and sophistication to a project. It seems like these parts hold the same allure and appeal as a corvette engine as the epitome of chevy parts. This is the first time I have seen the Impala rear speaker grill done in a pickup seat and I think it ties your interior together perfectly with a cohesive theme I searched for years for just the right steering wheel for my truck and lucked out on an original 59 Impala steering wheel that I plan to use this time around.

Re: New seat for my 57!
That is absolutely gorgeous! Í love the pattern and the material, and of course especially the speaker grill. Great way to keep it all together with your dash, NICE!
DId he make the back and/or the base thinner as well? Still using all the original style springs?

The base is the same thickness, but the back was made thinner. No spring used, just foam!
