Happy Thanksgiving, and how to lubricate brake sleeve assembly?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Anyway, what do you guys recommend to lubricate the brake sleeve? A link to one is provided below. I've read white lithium, which appears to have been used from factory. I've also read to use high pressure lubricant, such as camshaft break-in lub. On another note, page 263 and 264 of the assembly manual appears to show you grease the push rod, where it attaches to the brake assembly (3P). Don't know why you'd do this, and there didn't appear to be any lub when I pulled it apart. Thank you http://st.hotrod.com/uploads/sites/2...ort-sleeve.jpg

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, and how to lubricate brake sleeve assembly?
The same wishes to you. I would use a low temp bearing grease if the bearings on the shaft were steel or brass, oil if they are bronze, and nothing if they are Nylon or Delrin. I would guess the push rod got grease so it wouldn't squeak during the break in period and cause the vehicle the to be returned for warranty work. Now whether or not the dedicated GM employee put the grease on yours as it passed down the line is up for debate.

White Lithium grease because it's a long fiber and so will last longer than you'll live .
