How do you adjust a neutral safety switch? Its a automatic tilt column?

I always start truck put it in reverse shut off eng. then turn key on eng off I loosen screws to nuetral switch move switch till backup lights are on tighten screws. now it should start in park or nuetral.

It is the silver & black switch toward the end of column.

I know that this is an old 'THREAD', but is this switch in the same location on a column 'without' tilt steering?
And, I replaced a bushing that was missing on my column [see picture of missing bushing before and after I made a bushing to go there...sorry the after picture is blurry] because of too much slop in column shifter. Was having to lift shifter up-and-down in Park because of having trouble finding the "sweet spot" for the NSS so truck would start. The slop is gone now, but sometimes I still have to push up a little on shifter for truck to start. If it is in same location, it's apparently under the inner fender well on 'my' truck because I don't see it and the steering column goes underneath the driver's side inner fender well. |
