1978 chevy van auto column in a 69 c10???

ok, so I have a 69 c10 project that is basically a body and it didn't come with a steering column. I have been looking at junkyards and saw this column that looked exactly like a 67-72 auto column but came out of a 78 chevy van (per the junkyard writing). I was happy to see it and vaguely remembered the forum saying van columns worked so I paid my $40 and brought it home. slide it thru the cab and its 15 inches too short! the end is the normal ragjoint end and there is no adjustment for length. I cant afford a $200 column so im thinking about some kind of intermediate shaft conversion of some sort maybe using a ragjoint flexable coupler.

anyone out there using something that may help? at the moment I don't have pics, but I basically have a really short column that some how needs a 15 inch extension.

You need the intermediate shaft too.

I cant seem to find one though. it would have to have the same end on both ends for it to work.
