HVAC Control LED Bulbs

I asked this in the Electrical Section a few days ago and so far no responses so I'll try here. Has anyone changed out the 1895 Bulbs in their HVAC control panel. I am going to try LED's in my dash and thought I might as well change the HVAC bulbs as well. If you have can you sit pics of which LED's you used and a picture of them on at night.

Re: HVAC Control LED Bulbs

Don't have any pictures on this computer, but I think I used 194 wedge bulbs for the dash and BA9s bulb for the HVAC, but I could be wrong on the BA9s...

Re: HVAC Control LED Bulbs

Changed mine to a "white" cheap one from eBay. It looked blue and wasn't bright. Unplugged it and haven't done anything with it since.

You have the bulb numbers right but I'm curious a stop how they look at night in the HVAC control panel.

The trucks with Factory A/c have bulbs and when I think of it I'm not sure if the non-A/C trucks have bulbs in the heater/ defroster panel.

Re: HVAC Control LED Bulbs

I've been wanting to do this as well. Which BA9 bulb at which lumen rating did you use? I too am concerned about it being bright enough.

Re: HVAC Control LED Bulbs

I don't have a pic handy, and my truck is in my father in-laws garage at the moment. When I got mine, I just went on Ebay and typed BA( LED and several hundred popped up, all kinds of colors too. They have them with the proper bottom already mounted and and the signal cancellation correcting resistor already in them too. I will recommend the CREE type LEDs , they are much brighter i have found Also the Samsung brand seem more durable and last longer too. I also put the White face decal on my A/C/heat controls along with my gauges. It makes a world of difference for visibility. I have poor eyesight so any advantage I can get, I'll use, lol. Hope this helps at least a little. There's another type of LED called COB, they are larger diodes and produce more light also. they are used in alot of flashlights
