Re: Soon to be one of the 5.3 crowd..but tank/radiator?

Just fired my engine for the first time yesterday

I triple checked everything, verified my fuel pressure, said a quick prayer...then hit the key!

She fired right up with no issues! I couldn't be happier!

On another note some have asked about the S.U.R.&R. nylon fuel kit I used. I am very happy with it and it made plumbing the fuel system a breeze...

Now I can button up some of the other items I have left to do....like securing the jeep gas tank

Hey Joe

How many pieces did you use of that fuel line kit? I was thinking of buying one too, but it looked like i might be better off just finding the line and few pieces i needed. Did you use a lot of what was in the kit??

thanks

I didn't use most of the 5/16" line stuff...only enough to go from the filter/regulator to the tank so prob 4 feet and two fittings. I did however use most all the 3/8" line & fittings that were in the kit. (S.U.R. & R. #KP1200)
I got my kit from tooltopia.com for $139. This kit made it the easiest part of the 5.3 swap yet!

I really think you would be better off buying the entire kit. Just simply not worth the nickel & dime savings versus having what you need. I hate stopping what I'm in the middle of to run to the f&*king parts store!

I have all the components to set up my 6.0 swap. Can you please explain the way you set up your fuel lines? Like what line goes to the regulator to the fuel rail, returns, ect.... What lines on the sending unit and fuel tank you capped off?

I found this on google for the fuel hose filler question.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
