Found it in a farmers barn it's a 8ft bed but a real Cheyenne Super are these all that rare?

I know its not really optioned out but are they worth restoring or should I hold out?

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

Well, it has air, power steering, tinted glass, fullwheel covers, and it's a nice colour combo (in my opinion). What's not to like?

Post some pictures of this baby.

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

It's got air that's not that common in our area. If it's decent and a good price I'd say it's worth it.

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

If it's missing the glovebox "Cheyenne Super" emblem, I think I know where it is
Nice C10 Cheyenne Super. I would not say they are rare, but they aren't common either. They were the trim package that included the most things up front and gave you the cushy interior - all things being equal (i.e. non trim package options aside) they were the most expensive C10s. It's worth it for the houndstooth alone! All comes down to condition and asking price - regardless of the trim level.

Yes, they are worth restoring. Hold out for what?

Hold out for one with more options or at least a swb.

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

I would say price and condition will play a role in your decision ...

Condition looks good ...

Good luck!

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

I'll say the price is fair it runs and drives 3000 Canadian. I just have always been a swb guy was wondering what the lwb are like. Also there is a weird one ton truck with custom factory paint love the colour.

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

I know a Cheyenne is more desirable but this one tone is a 69 and there was no production numbers listed although the one ton 157 inch wheel base was listed so makes me wonder if the numbers weren't listed because not many were made. And this one is a gmc. And has a 14k gvw kind of a odd duck. And i like odd and unusual stuff.

The 1 ton is cool but - would you want to tool around in a 1 ton truck or C10? Just a thought.

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

you need to decide swb vs lwb first and then do your search. Stumbling onto a good deal on a lwb Cheyenne Super and buying it because it's a good deal will likely only lead to re-selling when the swb you really want comes along. And it will come along. Anyway, if you decide you do want a lwb, this Super is a decent deal unless the body is more rusted than it appears. Kinda hard to tell in the pics. Also, a major factor in choosing is being honest with yourself regarding how much work you want to do yourself (or not). We often over-estimate our own bandwidth in time and $, at least much more than under-estimating anyway... (at least I tend to). If you want to drive now, spending more up front is always less expensive in the long run. If you enjoy the work, then this might be a really good candidate. I would not personally hold out for a lwb Super with more options, it may or may not ever come along.

Good point but -- gcm needs to be flexible ... I was really looking for either a short bed C10 or and nice mid 50's Chevy Truck. I ended up with a 70cst LWB but - optioned with a factory 402BB, AC, 400 Turbo, Buckets etc... So I ended up with the Circuit Rider.... Then again if gcm is set on a SWB - then that's the direction he needs to go

Welcome to the board Tom. Ochre has a darker tint to it, a bit of orange in it, an earthier tone. (Jimmy)

Yellow is brighter and, well, yellowier. (Truck)

For my pictures, I used the "Manage Attachments" under the "additional options" box below the "Reply to Thread" box that we type in.

Cool Truck, (or not, without A/C). It's hard to tell in photos, the lights can really change two colors as close are those are.

Re: 72 chevy Cheyenne Super

I have a friend who decided he wanted to buy a nice good to go 64-66 Chevy SWB. He looked and looked at trucks. He was very very patient and picky. Finally he found a BBW short Fleetside '66 Custom V8/auto A/C truck in unusual factory tan that is just beautiful for $15k. He did new bed wood and a few little details and has offers of $35k he turns down because he got just what he wanted. That's how you buy your old truck
