H2 wheels on a 1998 Suburban question.
As the title says, I put a set of H2 wheels on my Suburban. I like the way they look but would like to finish off the centers. Is there a hub cap that works with this combo? I tried the factory GMC 8 lug centers I had on the original steel wheels that where on the 'burb but they wont sit down in far enough to put on the plastic nuts to hold them in place. Any suggestions?
I can post pictures tomorrow evening if needed.

2 options. Get a center cap off 99-up 2500 that came with aluminum wheels. Or take bout a 1/4" off the ones you have now. I did the later to my old 97....

Re: H2 wheels on a 1998 Suburban question.
I wondered why most H2 wheels I see in trucks use the '99-up center caps. I prefer the smooth 88-98s look and would want those, too

Re: H2 wheels on a 1998 Suburban question.
If I remember correctly I fabricated the plastic lug nut covers to hold the 80's/90's style caps on by epoxying 2 together back to back and grinding one rim (lip) off and it worked perfectly and looked great. I made it so 4 lugs covers were dummies and 4 were the ones that held on.Its hard to describe what I did but its possible. ill see if I can find a picture. See if you can enlarge this.
Type in the search box above "72freak hummer" and you may find some additional pics.

Re: H2 wheels on a 1998 Suburban question.
How did this turnout for you? and what size tire did you go with? i just picked up a '97 Suburban 2500. Looking to put some H2 wheels on it.

Re: H2 wheels on a 1998 Suburban question.
I have pics on my phone, but need to take quite a bit off the cap for it to fit. IMO still looks good. I don't like the looks of the newer caps, I prefer the older ones as well.
