Remote Resivour leak?

I have a VW remote Resivour. One side (rear) is empty. Looking underneath. The hose from the empty is shiny all the way to the master cylinder. Resivour is located under the seat. Other side is full and hose is dry. Setup is 8 years old. Any suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Remote Resivour leak?

A loose clamp at the reservoir? Maybe the incorrect type of hose and it took a while to bleed through?

Re: Remote Resivour leak?

It needs to be EPDM hose for brake fluid DOT 3, 4 and 5.1.
The VW reservoirs are a little thin and don't take much vibration to crack them.

Re: Remote Resivour leak?

Thank you for the replies. I bought the Resivour and the hose at the VW dealer. It has been fine for a long time. I only have 3,000 miles on the truck but it has taken 5 years to do that. Mostly because of surgery that would not let me do anything. I'm leaning toward the Resivour being cracked. Will check it out Monday and let you all know. Thanks again for your thoughts. I appreciate it👍
