how wide of wheels can be done in the rear

Iam getting ready to purchase a 1997 ext cab. was goin to do a 6-8 drop and run 22x8 front and 22x12 in rear also with a shorten rear in to get more lip in the rear wheel, question is how wide can i go before hitting the inner bed or leaf spring or will i have to go to a 22x10 or 10.5. thanks all

Re: how wide of wheels can be done in the rear

I have 10 in wide wheels with 275 tires on my truck with the back lowered 7 in. I think the backspace on the wheels is 5.5 in. I had to trim/roll my fender lips some to get the wheels to fit but they fit great now. 12 wide wheel might be possible but it would be real close, i don't have much clearance to the inner fender well with my wheels.

http://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whee...=30mm&scl=50mm

Take few minutes to take a couple of measurements and you can play with all the different combos.
