Headliner

Hi guys i have a project truck in progress.

i have a 1994 chevy 1500 half ton W/T 4.3 V6 RWD
8 foot bed standard cab 2 door.

i think the truck had a vinyl headliner , but i have looked all over online to replace the old one it was to far gone even the backing board.

anyone have any ideas.

you'll never believe what the old man did to this truck cab roof, he drilled holes in the roof all over it, when i took down the old liner i was wtf?,

thankfully he never punctured the outer skin of roof.

think i could use a flexible thin metal to glue to cover holes?

i was gonna fiberglass bondo the holes.. but seams like a lot of work.

other issue with my truck was the paint it was to far gone, but all metal is solid no rust.

right now the paint is stripped down only the old primer still on for now till next spring to sand paint.

for now am focusing on the mechanics ..

complete new exhaust system ready to install.
new tires on her
new shocks
new brakes
new alternator
new batt
new pulley and pulley tensioner
new spark plugs HT leads rotor distributor.
all fluids renewed.
new door strikers.
new pioneer radio cd
new rear speakers
bearcat cb installed.

pics shortly of the project truck..

for a 1994 manual 5 speed shes only done 68 000.

long way to go to finish her but mechanically she's becoming sound again.

love these old chevys can't beat them.

Re: Headliner

I don't remember ever seeing a vinyl headliner in these trucks, and believe me I've seen hundreds in the yards. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time.
I'd probably just leave the holes. Can't imagine why anyone would drill holes there, but if you get another board it should cover them

Re: Headliner

very interested in your build, I'm doing almost the same thing except mine is a 95 with an auto.

Did you check LMC for your headliner?

What size tires you running, they seem to fill the wheel wells nicely.

Re: Headliner

reason he drilled holes there because the ac was out and it was a easy fix low end pressure switch, but in his brain he thought by drilling holes in roof would allow cool air to blow in while moving, total retard.

Re: Headliner

This is the only recent one. Done for this year, no garage space left to work at it over the winter.

keep her outside like me you'll need to keep the wax on her,

seen as i have no paint only old primer on her i need to keep polishing her,
i also use my truck daily to work.

am going to invest in a cover for winter when i park her .. try keep elements off.

next year is paint time.
