Nice upgrade. I've always loved this truck and it's the motivation for my build. Didn't realize you are in Louisville. Hope to see the truck sometime.

Thanks. We moved back here in July. I plan to have it out and about this coming summer. I'm assuming you make it this way for some of the events?

Yeah I make it to Louisville a handful of times a year. Its only about 1.5 hours from here.

Enjoying following along, great lil pickup. What vintage air system(part #?) did you go with? looking forward to seeing the controller installed as well. Thanks.

I used a gen 2 system in my '51 and am happy with it.

I'll have to dig up the part #, it's not on my invoice. The controller will be run through the original heat control, it should look clean.

You wouldn't have if you had driven it! 30 miles were about as far as you'd want to go. I want to be able to do some road trips in it at 75mph, not 55mph.

I've driven Stella from Rowlett/Rockwall area out to Ft.Worth for GoodGuys a couple of times w/the 6-banger. She did fine but would agree long distance @ higher speeds can & does wear on 'ya physically. I drove my old bronze 68 w/a similar 6cyl/3spd set-up from Dallas to OKC, Houston, Austin, & similar distances & it does get old listening to them buzz along just trying to keep up w/traffic in the SLOW lane.

The transplant looks good & will be much nicer for road trips.

Thanks. You are right, long distances can be done but it isn't fun to see people flying by you when you're chugging along in the slow lane.
