Evan,
Not trying to hijack this thread, but did you ever get any of the Pawls completed? If possible I still need one.
Thanks
Tim

Maybe a door lock could be modified? Or use the door lock and cut the hole in a new pawl to fit the door lock. Sounds easy to me if the locks swing the right way.

Re: WTB tool box lock

Peharps LockDock could correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the GM number for the lock is 3987265. It looks correct anyhow. You can search that on ebay and they come up for about 30 bucks. I hope this is the correct one because this is what I purchased. It is from an old Corvette, so it has the added bonus of making your truck much faster

I was looking at the mid 50's GM door locks which are basically the same and I have some of those. The only problems I can see are that the key turns 90º in both directions from where the key is inserted (Center) and the key is only removable in the center position. I don't know if the ones sold for the Corvettes rotate 90º without a lock pawl on them or if they rotate 360º. I think the original tool box lock is designed so that the key is removable in the locked and unlocked positions. You can't do that with the Corvette or '50's GM door locks.... I was going to check and see if they could be modified.

Re: WTB tool box lock

Thanks LockDoc, I will try and check when I get home. It seems to me that it only rotates 90 degrees, but not sure if the key comes out or not in both positions.

That should be correct then. I'm not sure how it can be used for a Corvette door lock. Maybe the Corvette door locks work different than the normal car locks.... Let us know if it turns the right way to lock & unlock when you get it installed.

I think I have an NOS set I bought from Locdoc.

Let me look. Not sure what it is worth.

Just the lock set

Re: WTB tool box lock

I am keeping my NOS set. I do have a lock without key or the paw but will have the holding clip if I can remove without breaking. It is the one without the key. 67Kid on this board may have the key since I received the door from him.
