Re: Finally, able to post ! . . .

Well, I guess this is an update of sorts. I haven't done as much as I should have to the old dog. I replaced the radiator, water pump and heater core as a preventative measure since it sat in a barn for at least eight years.

Oh, yeah I picked up new tires and wheels for it since no one would touch split rims. ( I still have the split rims if someone needs fishing weights!)

The story on the rims: I found it weird and very coincidental.

When I decided to buy rims for the truck I found the Black aluminum Nascar rims on sale at Discount $50 a piece. Discount said they were being discountinued.

I went and ordered five, including spare.
They had to order them from different stores and called me when they came in.

O.K. now the coincidence . . . The truck was delivered to the dealership on 11-29-1966.
Four of the wheels had been delivered to the original store of destination on 11-29-2006.

The fifth wheel, the one you count on in a pinch . . was delivered to its original store on 3-14-2007, no big deal, except for the fact that both my grandparents thought the world of my wife and 3-14 is her birthday.

I'm not trying to be weird here, just pointing out coincidences after both of my grandparents were gone.

hope you guys enjoyed the story and the pics.

I have been busy with other projects and honey do's (two new bathtubs, second attic staircase, destroying my in ground pool) but have recently bought a big compressor and some new fenders and grill and am getting ready to try "rust bullet" out in the hood and new parts.
