Old Chevy Catalog

Years ago I used to have and use an old parts catalog from a company called Heavy Chevy or Chevy Duty? Something along those lines. It was a black and white catalog. Anyone know what happened to those people?

Sorry, no help here. However, you made me remember that when I was restoring my 65 back in the mid 80's, I used Golden State Pickup Parts out of California. It was run by a former rodeo clown. I wonder if they are still in business.

Oh man don't get me started. I went to a Golden State Pickups show at Magic mountain with my chopped channeled and shaved panel, we were parked on the truck side registered as a panel. One of the car show attendants friends (I can only imagine it was his friend) had a sedan wagon parked on the truck side, the car show attendants hung out with him. Well he won 1st place at the show in the panel category and I won 2nd place. Never went back to that show again, or purchased anything from them again. "Just sayin"

In 1990 my son and I attended the Chevy/GMC Truckin Nationals in Ogden Utah. This show was of course sponsored by GSPP. We got an eye opening education on how things work in the high profile car shows.

Years ago I built a custom chop Yamaha motorcycle. I put it in a large local show for metrics. I took second to a BONE STOCK Victory. I asked the judges why and they said " The Victory is made in America".

I've noticed that GSPP prices have gone up a lot. I only use Classic Industries now for my 65 Suburban as they seem to have pretty good parts and some Suburban parts.

Best I can remember, they may have been one of those places were Chevrolet accused them of using their name selling new parts. I believe they and/or some others were forced to change the name of their business.
