I have an stock 72 4x4 swb pickup. When I say stock I mean it has never been touched. Is there a lift made to fit 44's or is this going to be custom.

I think if you run 12" suspension lift and 3" body lift you can fit 44's. Unless you just destroy the fenders.

I used to own a truck on 44 boggers. The truck went through anything I had the balls to take it through and I looked mean. But.......It was a pain in the ass to drive on the street and the big tires are great at finding your weak link. In the 3 years I owned it I went through 4 turbo 400's, 3 dana 60 front axle stub shafts, 2 454's, 2 sets of ring and pinions, ect, ect. The list goes on and on. When 44's sit they develop flat spots that will shake your truck apart. If you care about you truck then dont do it. If it a beater then fine. Thats my opinion.

Get some 44" radials and the flat-spots shouldn't be a problem. And yes they make them! They got 49" radials out now

i converted my 72 sub from 2wd to 4wd. its still trailing arms in the rear for the soft ride but i put 8" lift front springs on it. I run 40" boggers and a 200r4 od trans. I get 10-12mpg around town and 16-18 on the hwy.

Superlift, I believe has 12" springs, though they are usually not advertised in the mags except for 73 and up. Sky jacker has 8" springs. ABHaulR your suburban is awesome!

It won't be a daily driver, just something to show off in. I'm tired of breaking the vehicle that has to get me to work. I would really like to do this and do it right. If any one has any links or numbers to anyone who has done this or sells parts to do this I would really appreicate it.

I got 44" Boggers on my 67 K20. I have 15+ inches of lift and I used a 12" Superlift suspension for a 73-87 model truck. Here is a link that documents it http://www.texas4x4.org/gallery/redneckmtrsprts .

ABHaulR your suburban is awesome! __________________ 1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
