Re: c10 headers
From what I've seen all long tubes hang below the frame , some say you can use chevelle headers but I never could get a definite answer if any modifications were needed so I went with headman mid length and like them a lot .. I put them on this past summer. They were coated and I got them from summit or jegs. I like them

Re: c10 headers
so yours are c10 BBC headers would you remember the part number I am putting the big block in and it is coming out of a Chevelle but they are in ruff shape maybe I should try them and see if they work this way I could replace them and know that Chevelle headers work on the c10.
thanks, |

Re: c10 headers
Chevelle headers will work and they don't hang below the frame rails. There are threads with pics here, just do s search. Mine are Hedman p/n 68190. Hooker p/n is HKR2455-1. These are both "uncoated". I blasted the anti-rust coating off and painted them with Rustoleum high heat ultra paint. I have not installed them yet though.

Re: c10 headers
You will need to modify your stock crossmember or run a tubular type though. The part numbers I listed are for automatic trans.

Re: c10 headers
I am in the process of upgrading my BBC motor and the Hedman headers #69196 mid length coated is what I used. fit like a glove with no modifications to frame or headers... I did go with tubular motor mounts though...

Re: c10 headers
69110 for the Hedman long tubes. They will clear everything, they are the black uncoated versions with the ball socket collectors. The ceramic coated versions are worth every penny if you can afford them and if your truck is dropped or plan to then the mid length "Pro Touring" headers are the ticket. I got mine through Amazon Prime and beat Summit's price by $30 and had them in 24 hrs. Contact Hedman and once you decide on a part number you can cross reference it for the cheapest cost and delivery.

Re: c10 headers
As long as you have correct big block engine stands these full length Hedmans will fit perfect.Bought through Summit Racing Equipment.part#HED-69116....$463.97.I have run the Elite series on some of my trucks part#HED-69820..same price,,thicker flange,14 gauge tubes but due to the thicker flange/tooling I had to notch passenger side of frame for clearance and movement...did this on 3 different trucks. On my latest build I had frame powder coated and I thought I would try the 69116 due to the 3/16" flange vs. 3/8" and it worked...zero mods, bolt right up.Now I am running a power master adjustable starter so I cannot say how a stock starter will work. They do hang a bit low so I would not recommend on a lowered truck.I run stock ride height trucks so I do not mind seeing a little header hanging down.....Rob.......
