?? for 1971 & 72 Suburban owners

We are finding some differences with a customers 71 Suburban taillight wiring from that of those we have here and we are hoping to get clarification on this.
The question is does anyone with a 1971 or 1972 have a taillight harness that runs from under the hood on the firewall like the pickup then down the frame to the rear or does your entire taillight harness run inside the Suburban along the underside of the roof panel??
If anyone does have the exterior wiring could you take a photo of the routing and what harness plugs into the rear of that harness? and where do the wires go from that harness?
Everything here we have appears to have ALL the taillight wiring Inside the Suburban.
Any and all feedback would be Greatly Appreciated!!!

I just checked my 71 and it runs along their roof panel. It's a gmc 2500.

Re: ?? for 1971 & 72 Suburban owners

Thank you for taking the time to look Bryce. From what we've been able to determine after about 8-10 hours research checking Panels & Suburbans, original GM wiring diagrams & schematic's, correspondence with the customer & our wiring provider M&H wiring either the factory or the dealer installed a towing harness on the Suburban and in doing so tied in directly to the rear lamp intermediate harness under the dash and this wiring then had a molded plug just like the truck rear intermediate harness that installed into the firewall and then a wiring harness that appears identical to the truck intermediate harness other than it being longer than a truck plugged into the harness on the firewall then it runs the length of the Suburban underneath then has a molded plug end the same as the truck that then installed into the rear frame crossmember hole on the drivers side and then a trailer wiring harness plugged directly into this.
Everything's molded ends and completely factory looking so it had us stumped until we were able to determine it did not feed anything on the taillights, back up lights or side marker lights. It probably would have been a lot easier to resolve it all if the current restorer of the Suburban had received the Suburban in 1 piece instead of completely disassembled and in crates.
Thanks again for your assistance Bryce and I hope you have a really great year!!
