72 1/2 ton Suburban 4x4 lift questions.
Anyone clearing 33-35s with a 4 inch lift?
Which one? Did it come with F/R springs? I like the RC 4 inch because its under 500 bucks, but it only comes with front springs. Has anyone bought this kit and purchased additional springs? where? Thanks for any info fellas. |

Re: 72 1/2 ton Suburban 4x4 lift questions.
The 12612 kit has 4 springs/u-bolts and shocks. I did add 1" block to the rear to level the Suburban out. ORD that Andrew linked to sells Tough Country. Even though these are "EZ Ride" springs I would not call them plush.
The wheels are OE but have been widened out to 10"

4" lift with 33x12.5. Front is springs rear is blocks. PO installed but I believe it is a Rough Country lift. I will be removing soon in favor of a 2" lift with a shackle flip from ORD. Personal preference is all...

Re: 72 1/2 ton Suburban 4x4 lift questions.
I run 35's on my Jimmy with a 4" lift. It has Rancho springs in the front and National springs in the rear. I started out with blocks in the back (2 1/2") combined with an add-a-leaf. But the 35's combined with 4.10 gears and the 4 speed bent the perches on both sides.
I R&R'd the perches and added the springs. That was 25 years ago and that's still the combo on it today. I know Special K and I have debated it, but my experience with blocks has not been good and I would encourage springs all the way around. BUT, with that said, I have an '86 K30 dually. 454, 4 speed that I bought a Superlift 3 1/2" kit for and in order to keep payload and overloads in place, will run blocks. YMMV....
