Another new build........

Well I'm trouble with the wife but I'm OK with it, she went to work today and I called in sick to go buy a new project so I bought this 57 GMC pickup in great shape running and driving condition for $3,500. I think I did pretty good. One question I have is has anyone done clear coat on a patina paint job? I've heard that there is special stuff to use on doing a patina paint. Hope you all have some good advice and hear what you all think about it.

Re: Another new build........

nice truck. waaaaay better shape than my 57 gmc was when i brought it home.
if you happen to go under the front bumper area, can you possibly snag me a pic or explanation of what holds the front fenders together behind the bumper? is it like a chevy truck with a sheet metal piece that goes from one side to the other and bolts onto the lower fender area with 2 bolts per side, or do they bolt to a bracket that attaches to the rad support maybe? my memory has failed since I took it apart 7 yrs ago, haha. the parts are outside in -15C under the snow. not a huge rush, just a wanna know thing.
