Tailgate value
What would a 71/72 chevy factory take off tailgate be worth that is in mint shape, but missing the handle and side arms.

there is another on here off a 72 super also missing the handle and it sold very quickly for 1200 bucks

In the last year I have seen a plain Jane gate go for $700 up to the Cheyenne Super gate for $1,200. IMO the Super is worth a decent amount more than the plain one. I feel 2 tone is also worth more. And original paint is a must.
The missing handle will hurt the value. The arms not as much, but the handle would for me. Reproductions are a lot better now. Not perfect, but better than they used to be.

What are they worth or what will one cost? I think you know the difference because you wouldn't have asked about the repros if you thought a new take off was worth $1,300. And I agree. I'm glad I bought mine when they were $200 and $300.
The repros aren't so bad these days. The first ones out years ago were so poorly made they would bent if a couple big boys sat on it.
