62 1/2ton frame swap

Would anyone know or has anyone put a 1969 c10 short bed frame under a short bed 1962 c10 shell? I am just wondering if this would work or if it is going to be a pain. Any help would be appreciated.

Pain!

Mounts will need to be built/moved etc, frame horns will have to be cut off and replaced with original frames. Oh and the #'son the VIN and frame won't match which to some won't matter but to many DMV folks is a huge no no. I wouldn't buy one. But the truck is yours, make you happy.

Why not swap disc brakes and a new rear from a donor?

Re: 62 1/2ton frame swap

The chassis i was looking at was bagged. Mine has torsion bars and springs in the back. Do you know what newer cross member would work to get mine swapped out to a spring front end? I have checked at mustang two frontends... Everything seems to be for a 1963 and later...

Springs in the back? Leaf or Coil?
.
73-87 front cross is member is what most use to go to coils in the front.

I swapped my 62 front end cross member with one from a 72 C-10. Had to wallow out a couple holes but it was mostly a straight forward swap. I ditched the torsion bars obviously and also converted it to a disk brake and PS setup.
