Getting ready to start working on the 66...

I picked up a 66 before Christmas... SWB fleetside.
I am considering air ride .... can anyone give me a little advice on what brands to use/stay away from ?
Also what size front and rear wheel/tire can I run! I want to run 20-22" diameter ... how wide can I go in the rear and how wide is safe in the front ? Any tips would be helpful , this is the first 66 build which I assume is similar to the 61

Re: Getting ready to start working on the 66...

I have been researching the same things.

I would contact Travis at azproperformace. They are a vendor here and have air ride kits from basic to loaded. I believe he has 60-66 truck with air ride and large wheels, so I'm sure he could help with the wheel question.

One of the steps on the outer rim painted white... instant fake out whitewall. It would be cool...

Re: Getting ready to start working on the 66...

Just kicking around ideas and asking for advice/opinions but my latest crazy idea for the 1966......well what are the pros and cons, which transmission to run...
How about a 292 swap with a turbo and overdrive transmission? HMMMM What do you guys think?

Re: Getting ready to start working on the 66...

i had a straight six in mine and traded out for a V8, but for some reason i want another six-shooter again. I think they can look really cool, plus not many people turbo them so it would be unique!
Is this build still for the lady? Give her some as reliable as possible
