Custom saddle tanks ideas
I am looking for affordable ideas for visible saddle tanks for a squarebody 454 crew dually. Has anyone any ideas for a source for tanks and mounting?

Interesting idea. I can't offer you any help, but i would like to see what you come up with. I would think something from a big rig would be too big, but there are yards for them around.

How about a heavy truck polished aluminum tank? You might be able to find one at a wrecking yard if you get luck.
If you have a good army navy surplus in your area how about a decommissioned bomb or a small belly tank from an aircraft. |

Re: Custom saddle tanks ideas
A web search for "Spun Aluminum Fuel Tank" yields plenty of results for sources, and the same search on ebay yields a whole plethora of choices.
Most of them seem to be targeted around the offroad and dunebuggy crowd, so there are a lot of 5-gallon options, I think the largest I saw was 13.5 gallons, which still seems rather small to me, but I suppose two of them would give you acceptable results.
