homemade tilt hood video

Subject:Watch "67-72 homemade tilt hood" on YouT, https://youtu.be/9kogRMi0ue0.
Well the shocks drastically help the ease to open and shut the hood. I need to make some brackets to hold springs and limit how far forward the hood can turn so it won't hit the grille. Thought someone may want these ideas

Great work! I bet that took some trial and error to get working that easily!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Sir. I dont have a build on it but i can get some pics and some measurements in a day or two and post up. It consists of maybe 1-2 foot of 1 1/2 angle. A stick of small square tube and a little bit of plate . Oh and a couple of eye bolts i welded on the ends. They were for a fence gate from tractor supply. It was just trial and error till i got it right. I can get you in the ball park for sure. One thing to note. The aftermarket hood has two braces that runs parallel down each side of the scoop. Stock does not so it may not be as easy with a stock hood. With that said i built slider brackets for under the hood so i do have alittle adjustment if needed. Also allows the bracket to be removed pretty easy. The rear latches i cut the top section of the oe hinges. That allows me to bolt those brackets in the oe holes and stack shims to raise or lower the back as well. When the back sliders fall into the slot and the oe front latch is engaged it is positively locked down front and back. The rubber isolaters keep it located for the most part between the fenders.

Um i assum you mean a windy day with it open. Cause when its closed its not going anywhere. I did this mod caus my truck will go low enoug that it would hit stock hinges. It is more sturdy than you think. You can also prop it @ 2/3 open the normal way.. if you extended the rear catch you could probably get mor than that.

Wow.

And to think I was excited installing new bumper stops under the hood the other day.

If you would not mind getting the measurements that would be awesome! I just really like how simplistic it looks and performs.
