Double Roller timing chain on stock cover??
I have been frustrated trying to find an answer to this. I am rebuilding a 1977 454 out of a C25 pickup. Stock cast block and large oval heads. I have a double roller timing chain that I am putting on. My engine machinist said that the cover will work, but I am not sure and I don't want to screw anything up. Is there a way I can measure fitment? Does it move when running that I would need to account for more room?
Help! Thanks :-) |

Re: Double Roller timing chain on stock cover??
I just put a double roller in my 454 without any issues under the stock cover

Re: Double Roller timing chain on stock cover??
That should fit under a stock timing chain cover.

I've ran them with a stock cover many times.
