Could be too much backlash in the rear end gears.

68 shotgun
With that transmission swap the Questions I would ask myself is. Is the drive shaft the correct length? If it is too short it will cause problem. Are the U-joints ok? Did the Transmission mount break because of the swap? If you had the driveshaft length was changed (is it Balanced)? Hope this helps Getter Done Last edited by Getter-Done; 01-19-2017 at 12:11 AM. Do you have a three piece drive shaft? If so check your mid shaft bearing for wear. If not check length and or pinion angle. Other than that check for loose or broken rear end/ suspension parts

Ok so, I had an automatic before and worked great, TKO gets installed and driveshaft gets shortened and balanced, one piece. New u joints.
It's bin a year now nd last week I had the rear end shortened for wheels. That has nuttin to do with it because it's bin hopping for a year lol. New axles installed |

Re: Rear hopping when I'm in reverse. Help!!!
This is straight from the Tremec Web site:
Q: My vehicle has a vibration that didn't exist prior to the installation of your transmission. Is there something wrong with the unit? How do I fix it? A: In nearly all cases (we don't claim to have never had an issue), vibrations are the result of an oversight made during the installation. Issues such as improper driveline angles, improperly indexed bellhousings, and/or issues related to the crossmember or transmission mount can wreak havoc on an otherwise clean installation. We are currently working on an online Troubleshooting Guide to address such issues. In the meantime, please feel free to contact our customer service department using the information found in the Contact Us section. |
