Need Advice on truck value

Hey guys trying to find my first 67-72 C10 owned a few square bodys when I was younger and always wanted one of these. Found this 1970 and I'm wondering some opinions on value? A/C, speedometer, wipers and horn don't work. Some rust spots on doors. Older paint job. 305 with 700R4. Hope this question is allowed and I know you cant tell much from pics but any ideas welcome.

Not as bad lookin' rig . The 305 kills it... looks like maybe a leaf sprung truck, however with a pretty straight body, if it's an original short bed and not a hacked up long bed... $5,000ish. If it's not an original short box... $3,500ish.

Any obvious rust in other places like the rockers, drip rail, cab corners, etc? Looks like the bottom of the doors have something going on. From the pics, it's a neat looking pickup. Is it a real short bed?

Pro's (for me):

Running-driving truck, tank has been moved, AC, sits decent, and has decent curb appeal.

Con's (for me):

305, doors cut for speakers, something going on with the front of the bed at the seam with the floor, bottom of doors.

If there isn't a bunch of rust, I would guess anything less than 12k is probably a good buy.

I can tell you for certain that that dealer marks everything up 5k from what they have in it and they will not come off their prices.

Keep looking for a truck from an individual at a reasonable price.

No other rust real evident, Bed is beat up and has spray on bedliner. Heres a pic of underside, believe its a true short.

Went to their website and they want $19,000 for this rig. Not even close... but that's me. For that price that should be a show quality frame off rig with NO rust or any issues whatsoever.

The bed itself looks like a short bed. Doesn't mean it's a SWB truck. That can only be verified by inspection. The SPID is a guide, but it may not be original.

Rust on the doors may mean rust in the cab.


If rust is negligible, assuming the power train, suspension and brakes are tight, and considering the mods and 305, perhaps

SWB: $6-8ish
Modified LWB: $2500-5ish

Look at the rear springs, cut collapsed, does not look correct. Too many questionable parts, 67-68 front end?

I'd pay $4,000-$5,000 MAX. You buy the truck and would have to restore the whole thing. I get the feeling someone quickly spray bombed it for quick sale.

Cut dash radio hole.
Cut inner door speakers.
Inner bottom of doors rusting.
Re-used rusty hardware.
Rear pan dinged up.
Tail light chrome bent up.
Body seams off.
Mis-matched foot pedal pads.
Dash bezel hacked up.
Seat has nicks and cuts.
Glued-in headliner.
Inner tailgate and inside bed beat to hell.
fuel filler in middle of the bed.
Orange peel paint.
Rear coil springs compromized.
