Spindle swap
Has anyone swaped the front spindles from a 1978 1 ton to a 1966 1 ton chassis to gain disc brakes anf larger one ton wheels im looking at doing this on a 1966 chassis mount rv motor home thanks for any help and how its done

I have not done a spindle swap with original control arms. The issue may be that the '78 lower ball joint may not be the correct size for the '66 lower control arm for a press fit. What I did on my '66 C30 is install a complete '73-'87 C30 front suspension, crossmember and all.

I am doing this on my 1/2 ton. I know it is not a 1 ton. The difference with the lower ball joints was one is longer then the other. Other then that they were the same. It might be the same with the one ton. Maybe if you found out you could share your findings.
