Which front bumper on 67 GMC???

What do you think? Did 67-8 GMC have the same front bumper as the Chevys?...or was it different?

Our GM original GMC master parts catalog which lists part #'s for GMC 67-72 trucks only but does not cover Chevrolet trucks has the same part # for the 67 & 68 GMC truck front bumper as our Chevrolet master parts catalogs which covers Chevrolet trucks only and not GMC, this catalog lists the same part # for the 67-70 Chevrolet front bumper as the GMC catalog showed for 67-68. The 67 GMC sales brochures and 68 GMC sales brochures also show 67-70 style front bumpers on the front of 67 & 68 GMC's and beginning in 1969 the literature shows the different 69-72 GMC front bumper being used which coresponds to the information found in the 2 seperate Chevrolet & GMC master parts catalogs.

Frank,
I purchased my 68 GMC 4X4 from the original owner over 20 years ago and it had never been modified or wrecked and it came with the "cut out" front bumper... All of the 67 GMC's I have owned had the chevy bumper...

Same bumper

That's very interesting. It must have been the same bumper in 67-8. In rolled one of my customers with a 67 GMC he got from the original owner...white bumpers, so I know it didn't have one of the common chrome replacements. His orignal owner's manual and the sales books I pulled out did show the straight bumper on the front of the GMCs.
GMC must have later thought they obstructed the park lights or something, because they bent that area of the bumpers starting in 69. Even though the park lights remained the same.
Thanks everyone for playing along on "Truck Trivia".
