Hey guys, has anyone had any experience with going aftermarket air on an LS swap and maintaining the rear air in a 72?
Totally new adventure, Hoping for some advice. |

Re: LS aftermarket air with rear air
No, but I would expect the packaged Sanden compressor for a truck system would not have enough displacement. Sanden does make larger displacement compressors that would probably do the job.
The GM R4 compressor is about 164cc for comparison. Re-read your post. Are you going to use the factory Denso compressor? I think they are 177 cc so that will work fine. You'll just have to find the proper t's and tie into the lines.

Re: LS aftermarket air with rear air
It shouldn't be a problem, you will just need the correct parts.

Re: LS aftermarket air with rear air
Hey Guys, Thanks for the response. I have the stock compressor on the 6.0 , I would like to use it if it will work.
If someone makes the correct fittings to adapt it, that would be awesome. A/C has always been a thorn in my side, never quite understood it. |

Re: LS aftermarket air with rear air
I was thinking of doing the same. My rear air worked ok up until my compressor died. My mechanic is suggesting a Vintage Air GenIV (Sanden) compressor replacement (not the complete system upgrade).
I'd love to hear your experience on this one...probably a couple months before I do it myself. |

Re: LS aftermarket air with rear air
Me too, I'm in early stages. Im working on suspension now. Motor is done, trans is done, wiring harness is done. Finish brakes and suspension, then minor body work, a/c and paint.
