suburban for ls swap on 84 ?

Son has an 84 that we have not gotten started on for a couple different reasons . may have the answer now . deer was faster than I was with 2001 suburban , Is there any reason we could not use this for our donor vehicle ? I read a past post where a guy used the suburban tank and as long as we can make the harness work this may be our start .

That dead Suburban is an excellent donor for the swap. You know the history of the motor, and you can sell of your left overs. There are several "good" sources for your information request. Start by looking in our LS forum here.
I follow a group on Facebook dedicated to the topic that has some very knowledgeable users. The general consensus is to use the 1987 tank that can be purchased new from sources like Rock Auto for less than 100.00. The 87 truck was FI so the tank will fit your needs and ensure you have a clean fuel source. The fuel pump will need to be upgraded as well.

You would need a tank for a 87-91 suburban with the matching fuel sending unit.
Install a Walbro 255 Lph fuel pump into the sending unit and the tank is done.
