So I was watching Wheeler Dealers the other day and they had a Maserati and a VW van with an electric motor in it. Has anyone tried this in there truck. Don't stone me I am just curious.

Re: Truck Board Suicide
I would think the weight of these trucks is far too much for an electric conversion to work efficiently. But of course, anything can be done for the right amount of money.
I'd be curious if anybody has tried it. |

Re: Truck Board Suicide
I accidentally cranked over my truck when it was in second gear without pressing in the clutch one time. Figure it moved about five feet on pure electric power. Does that count?

Re: Truck Board Suicide
The power is out there and the bed would make a good battery box. Check out what these guys build. They make crazy power. With electric 100% of the torque is available on the hit of the pedal. Can you say 670HP!

Re: Truck Board Suicide
There's a company in the Montreal area who are converting pickups to electric. The government of Quebec was one of their first customers.

A 65 C10 2wd weighs less than a Chevy Volt, and a lot less than a Tesla.

Re: Truck Board Suicide
I'll go ahead and leave this little nugget. Not purely electric, but a practical power/mpg booster.
