Re: 1959 Chevy Truck

Thanks guys!!!
Sorry for the late response... But yes. It is 2" longer. I love the way it sits when it's slammed but when at ride height it's a little to far forward for looks but it's all personal preference at that point.

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck

Hey guys!!!! I'm back. I took a little break, but I'm back and still plugging away at the truck. I have just done some small stuff, throttle linkage, return springs, stainless steel radiator hose. Currently re plumbing the air lines, ordered new cooling fan and shroud (she likes to run hot) oh, and I welded on some blocks below the frame so the truck will sit on them when aired out instead of my deep tranny pan and headers. With the truck aired out, the front crossmember sits 1/4-1/2" off the ground. This is a pic with all the air out while I'm working on it. Wish the back was done too!

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck

And I forgot to mention, all my measurements payed off; with it this low, I can turn the front wheels full left and right without rubbing...sitting still, not driving. But I do wish the fronts were a little bigger or more proportionate to the rear. I love the way the rear wheels fit.

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck

OK guys, it's been a long time since I have posted anything!! I haven't done much more except a lace style paint job. My post is bitter sweet.... I am in the military and I have received orders for Hawaii. For those of you who care to remember or go back and read, this is my highs high school truck, and was my dad's truck before he passed. This truck has been my therapy, my pride, and my joy. I have turned down countless offers over the many years. It dosent look like it's plausible for me to keep holding on to this truck much longer. Sure, I can take it to Hawaii but it's going to take a couple grand to bring it with me or more than that for long term storage here in florida. I wouldn't normally hesitate at all to bringing it with me but over the last couple years I have been able move on after my father had passed and I am contemplating selling the truck.... I will always have the memories.

My question to all of you, is what is this truck worth to someone in the market to buy? I am just trying to get an idea what to start advertising... I have always had it insured for 30k. over the years with grundy auto.

What's it worth and know anyone that's interested?

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck

I don't know what it is worth.....

But shouldn't you think again about selling??
Maybe you gonna regret it.
I don't how the military works at your side of the pond, overhere is a workcycle 4 or 5 years then on to another place. At one time you're going back to the mainland, I think?
Try to store the truck for that time, once it's gone, it's gone.....

Nice paintjob, I like the matt / satin look on it!!

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck

Nice truck man and I agree with RockinKees, once it's gone it's gone and with all the history you have with it you'll be gutted if it does sell.

All the best whatever you decide.
