Steve, This one is from Reggie Jacksons 1968 survivor truck. It came with the 327. If it helps I'll send you a email with the full size file. I also have the SPID if you want to see it.
(Pics here are 642px the full size file is 1000px.)

I bought that decal but its not 100% correct, it lists the 350 motor and that was not avalable in 68 trucks.
My pic shows my 68 truck with decal, but as I said words are all faded away
I have seen the factory correct decal here on the board in years past, I think it has the GM logo in the right hand corner.

I was just noticing that. The application code isn't correct for a 327 is it?

Re: Help wanted, Pic needed

Steve, As per our phone conversation we need to verify that, that is a application code. It could be a picking code or even something else.
Northergmc might be the member you were thinking of. He has a 68 L47 396 anniversary special. Here is his home page if you want to send him a PM. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/member.php?u=10406
I found a pic of Leddzepp's firewall (St. Louis trucks have the model number on the firewall) and he does have a V-8. Here is his Home page if you want to send him a PM. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/member.php?u=32075
We need to find a 68 327 sticker and a 68 (L47)396 sticker if you want to do both trucks correct, including part number. Reggie's truck is a 68 327, but I think we should find another one to verify the CY code. I'll spend some more time looking for this info tomorrow.

Anyone out there who's truck has the decal, or a good pic of one in your archives.
We need to chronicle this type of infomration.

Re: Help wanted, Pic needed

Steve, I agree that we need to chronicle this type of information. I did some checking today and the Corvette, Camaro and Chevelle guys have been doing it for years. They have the codes pretty well researched for their vehicles. As well as which decal is correct for the different models engine choices and years.
The CY code is what they call a tag code and it relates to a specific year, vehicle, engine and option choices including AC, manual or auto, smog equipped or not, as well as GVW(for trucks). I didn't find any decodes for the codes, but they chronicle all the info they can and go with the pattern that emerges. We need to do the same thing. It would be a fun project to work on.
