Is there a relay for wipers?

I have replaced my module for my delays, with two other modules and they still don't work on delay. Is there a relay also? If so could someone tell me where I can find it?

I take it you're saying that you've replaced the finned delay module at the base of the steering column already?

I just converted my wipers in my 78 this weekend by installing out of a wrecked suburban the wiper delay harness and delay switch in the dash. Shouldn't be anything else needed.

There is no relay. The module is built to take the load - notice how it has a huge heatsink? You could also build the same module with current electronics and make it 1/8 the size without the heat sink too. How technology works...

The problem could be in the wiper switch or wiper motor too.

so how bad is the switch to change? I checked the motor also with another one.

That switch is very easy to change. You will need to take off the dash face plate. After that the switch is held on with two screws, pull it through the opening, then uplug the harness. 10 minutes or less. for the whole removal/reinstall including the face plate.

He doesn't have a dash switch on a 86. It is in the column. I personally haven't done it, but I think you can do it without taking the steering wheel off. The only hard part is getting the wires routed back down.

yeah, I finally figured out that he was talking about the earlier switch. So the switch in the column itself can actually go bad too?
