From lurker to owner. Vancouver Island, B.C.
Well it took a year of looking, and then another 3 months to sort out the registration......but I'm finally the owner of a sweet old 64 GMC. Was originally bought in Kansas at White Mach. & Motor Co.. It then migrated up to Saskatchewan and spent a good portion of it's life in a barn. It's a 305 V6 with a 4 speed. There is minimal rust, less than I've seen on any of the others I looked at.
I put ads asking if anyone had one of these for sale at a decent price, or what I thought was a decent price. I had a few replies to the ads, but they were all people saying that I wouldn't find one for what I was willing to pay. Well one came up and I acted quickly. He was a great guy who gave me first right of refusal. There were a few people disappointed because there was no way I was going to refuse it once I saw it. The seller even trailered it to where I was going to store it, a 90 minute drive each way....at no extra cost. It took some time to sort out the missing registration, but as of today......it's mine. Once it warms up a bit, I'll be back to working on it. I'm sure I'll have a few questions. |

Welcome. Nice score with the minimal rust! I recently bought a complete, rust-free front clip for my truck out of Kansas. The picture rotation happens often with cell phone pics. If taken with an iPhone, I hear, when taking a picture, hold the phone horizontally, with the home button by your right hand, and pics will display properly on this site. Other brand of phone, I have no idea.

Starting with minimal rust is a bonus. Thanks for the Iphone picture tip, I'll keep it in mind when I snap any other pictures.
