I feel real bad!

My brother in law just built up a 351W for his 86 Bronco. He put in a "special cam", new carb, headers, ignition, and so on... After a couple of thousand he is all happy and excited. Has a nice sound at idle and has no problems smokin the tires.
Now for the good stuff.
We were side by side at a red light. He was all smilin and actin bad. Well I decided to see what his truck is all about. I have a stock 69 with a 307 and three on the tree. I had some encouragement from my son and nephew, so GREEN means go and we did. Im smokin through first, chirped second(yes on the column) then hit third, LIKE A ROCK -- CHEVY wins by a long shot. Man was I laughin. Had to try it again, he was not convinced, SAME thing blew him away. I feel real bad about that, he went home with his tail tucked.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Thought ya'll might get a kick out of that!

Don't feel bad. @ least he learned he has more work to do from someone who will let it slide..... who absolutely won't remind him every chance available.....

To be fair, you both need to race again. This time drive each others trucks & see if it was the mighty 307 or your superior driving talent that won the race .

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

HAHA ! I have had many a races like that! And some I even won. lol

last week @ a stop light I was kinda tapping the gas pedal to keep the engine idle clean ( ideling kinda funky ) and this rice rocket next to me, light turns green and he lights his up and I am like a$$ hole you wanna race let me know next time. I think maybe he was thinking I wanted to as one of my manifold gaskets was off. And it kinda had a dragster sound to it. Whats worse is when he took off he let the clutch out quick and the carb fluttered and I could have layed down and left him sitting there. oh well next time.

so are you running just a stock 307...??? No offense, but something ain't right if you are... he should be able to edge you out with that many cubes and some upgrades, especially on a fresh motor... maybe it's a gearing issue...??? Like was already said, a win is a win...

OK guys, I love my old GMC and pretty much any old (pre-73) GM truck, however, I absolutely hate newer GM trucks. I can proudly say that my 03 PowerStroke 6.0 diesel has yet to be beat by a gas or Dura X-Lax newer GM truck. It's also built about 10x's better. I wish GM would go back in time and stop using sub-tupperware plastic on newer models. And what were they thinking on that 03 front clip redo, YUK!
